Late Hadja Amie Massaquoi Waritay

The Waritay, Massaquoi, Pabai, Zoker, Kemokai, Kawah, Kpaka, Lumeh, Hassan, Massalay, Kromah, Tunis, Abban, Fahnbullah, Rogers, Sheriff, Freeman, and Zombo families announce with grief and sadness the home going in her 83rd year, of their mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, Hadja Amie Massaquoi Waritay.  This sad event occurred on Saturday, May 30th 2015, in Monrovia, Liberia. She was the daughter of the late Paramount Chief P.C. Manna Lusenie Massaquoi and Mamayeun Bendu Pabai of Fairo, Soro Gbema chiefdom, Pujehun District, Southern Province, Sierra Leone.

Hadja Amie Massaquoi Waritay, commonly called MA AMIE, was a devoted muslim who traveled to Mecca in 2011.  She lived in Ganta and operated the great “Amie’s Restaurant” for several years. She moved to Monrovia during the civil crisis and later migrated to the USA, where she lived for more than a decade.  Hadja Amie Massaquoi Waritay was predeceased by her husband, Mr. S. T. Waritay, and her children: Suleima Zeto Waritay, Saffie Waritay and Musu Waritay Dahn.

Mourning the loss of "Ma Amie" (as she was affectionately called), are her children: Mohammed T. Waritay (Mary), Lanfia T. S. Waritay (Rachel), Veronica Johnson, Pheobe Tutu Waritay, Mariama Daba Waritay Okyne (Sam), Lahaison Waritay, Fatu Waritay Kear (Uriah), Matthew Waritay Guah (Eve) Bernard Big-boy Waritay, Lasana Waritay, and Tenneh Massaquoi Blamo (JB) of the U.S.A and Liberia.  Grandchildren include: Maxwell Waritay, Sammed Okyne, Caltonette Baoh, Maima Sweetie Waritay, Mamayan B. Waritay, Mamia Waritay Tarr, Sallymatu Giselle Waritay, Samartha Okyne, Alicia Pushu Blamo, Lahaisina Waritay, Haja Massa Waritay, Veronia Bella Caphart, Tejan Waritay Lewis, Kanesha Waritay, Bernice Brown and Jonell T.S Blamo, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, foster children and friends in the USA, Europe, Liberia and Sierra Leone. She was greatly loved by everyone and will surely be missed.

The DUA Prayer Services (Feast) will be celebrated in the USA as follows:
