Mr. Osmund L. Woods Sr.

The Woods, Scott, Dennis, Marshall, Askie, Kemoh and Swaray  families announce with deepest sorrow the death of our Father, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Grandfather, Mr. Osmund L. Woods Sr. After a long and brave fight with cancer, he departed this life on, May 28th  2016 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Prior to migrating to the United States in 1988, our father served the Liberian Government as a humble, honest and dedicated civil servant. He was supervisor in the Editing and Data processing section at the Ministry of Finance. He also worked in the Agriculture Department University of Liberia and later at the Ministry of Agriculture. At an early age, he attended elementary school in Zorzor, Lofa County, and graduated high school from the College of West Africa (CWA), class of 1963. He attended the University of Liberia and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, class of 1967.

He was born in Millsburg, Montserrado County, Liberia on September 29, 1940 to the late Elshmere Tyson Woods and the late Viola Scott Woods. The 2nd of 8 children between Elshmere and Viola, he was predeceased by his brothers Emile, Waldron, Dempsey, Albert and son Victor.
 He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife Anna Swaray; (children) Osmund Jr. (Pheme), Lena, Jim, Elshmere (Belinda), Anamarie, and Vera; (Siblings), John (Catherine), Amahrue (Matilda), Lady Van, Ophelia, Georgetta (Terrance), Wokie (Quentin), James, Maggie, Jerome Sheldon, Beatrice; (Aunt) Cecelia Goneh; (Uncle) Charles Scott; (Cousins) Clarice, Henry (Esee), Almond and other siblings; Ten grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends in Liberia, USA, Europe, Ghana and other parts of the World.

May his soul rest in heavenly peace and may light perpetual shine upon him.
