It is with deepest regrets and profound sadness that the Wulu Family announces the passing of our dearest and beloved father, the patriarch of our family, Mr. John N. T. Wulu, Sr., on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at his home in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Minnie K. W. Wulu and younger brother, Army General David Q. Nimley. He is survived by all his ten children; fifty-one grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one younger brother; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Our Patriarch’s home-going celebration will start in the United States and conclude in Liberia with:

Special Memorial Service: Friday, April 18, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Second Grace United Methodist Church, 18700 Joy Rd., Detroit, MI 48228. (313-838-6475)

Visitation:  Friday, April 25, 2014 from 4:00 – 5:00p.m.–viewing; followed by a program of tributes from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Lucas Memorial Chapel, 9010 Garfield Blvd., Garfield Hts., OH 44125. (440-735-3030)

Wake Keeping:  Immediately following the visitation program from 9:00p.m. – 1:00a.m., there will be reflections at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kaller Wulu-McKay, 22270 Chardon Rd, Euclid, Ohio, 44117.

Life Celebration:  Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 1:00 – 3:00p.m. at the Affinity Missionary Baptist Church, 4411 E. 175th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44128. (216-283-4869)

Tribute Reception: Immediately following the life celebration service from 3:00 – 7:00p.m. at the Church.

Africa: His remains will be taken to Monrovia, Liberia.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 8, 2014 from 2-4p.m. at the Samuel Stryker Funeral Home. Wake-Keeping will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 6-10p.m. at the Richard M. Nixon Institute (John & Minnie Wulu School System). His home-going service will be on Friday, May 9, 2013 from 10a.m. -1p.m. at the Assembly of God Church on Buchanan Street. Interment follows at the Paynesvile Wulu Square on Capitol Bye-Pass. Repast follows immediately on the school campus.
