The Yelegon/Yelekor, Kehleay, Kiepea, Dehmie, Gofan, Gehyigon and Gbunblee families announce with profound regrets and sadness the sudden death of their father, brother, uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and In-Law, Mr. Nya Peter Yelegon. His sudden death occurred on November 17, 2015 while enroute for referral from the G. W. Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie to the Ganta United Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Yelegon was an instructor of Mathematics and Physics at the Nimba County Community College. He was a former Mathematics Instructor at the Booker Washington Institute in Kakata, a former Principal of St. Martin High School in Gbarnga, and a former employee of the Lutheran World Service in Ganta.
The late Nya Yelegon was a member of the Knight of St. John Auxiliary and Head of the Red Cross in Nimba County. Nya, as he was affectionately called by his friends and love ones, was a Philanthropist and offered professional and voluntary service to several charitable organizations, including Research and Integrated Community Development Center (RICDC) as the first National Coordinator in Liberia
He was predeceased by his mother, Kou Sekpeh-Yelekor, and his brother, Daniel S. Yelekor. Nya leaves to mourn his wife, children, grandchildren and a hosts of relatives including sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, in-laws and friends in Liberia, the United States, Sweden, and other parts of the world.
