Who Will Be President

Questions posted by our readers:

Wilbert A. J. Hoff of Cincinnati, Ohio

1. As President, would you support a constitutional amendment to limit the number of political parties to not more than five(5)?

2. During your first 100 days as president, what would be your priorities?

3. I have, since 1972 until 1985, worked full-time for the Government of Liberia. What would be your approach to national physical development and its re currency with the view to assuring that presidential egotism for projects consideration is not the rule of the day?

Musu Stewart of Hyattsville, MD asked -
- 1. "as persons who want to see Liberia take off on the right track, can they, prior to elections begin to push for a referendum that will limit the number of political parties and individuals that can participate in national elections even if it means that some of them will have to give up their aspirations. Would they be willing to think about mergers which will yield more efficiency?"

Saye Zonen, Attleboro, Massachusetts asked:

a) As a leader of this fragile nation, the question of rejuvenating the economy, I am sure, would burden you the most. I would however like to know, should you become president, on your list of hierarchy where does the construction of roads in rural Liberia rank?

b) Other than government funded projects, do you foresee other means by which roads could be constructed and maintained?

James C. Blyee,Jr. of Hartford, Connecticut asked:

In the midst of more than ten persons, what makes you think that you will be declared a winner for the Executive Mansion?

The presidency is not the only position in Liberia that will demonstrate your contribution to the development of the country, why not other post?

Don't you think it is wise enough to push for an All Liberia Conference for Liberians to politically divide Liberia into four territories so that we can introduce governorship, at which time, you guys may have the opportunities to contribute your quota to Liberia by running to be governors?
