Positions, specific skills requirement and function description include, but not limited to:
Shipping Operations Officer / Manager:
The position requires an experienced person with the requisite education and knowledge of the industry. It also requires good communication and computer skills and a high level of professionalism. He / she will:
- Attend Port conferences, representing the agency and defend ships or vessels’ interests;
- Prepare for, attend to and follow up on ships’ call operations and ensure effective inter relations with Port authorities;
- Develop and maintain appropriate relationship between quay operators, ship staff and Agency;
- Issue vessels’ call reports and maintain effective communication and relationship with clients;
- Meet with and provide all necessary support and assistance to Vessel Master and Crew;
- Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all shipping documentation for vessels both for import and export as well as those required for cargo before/after loading and discharging;
- Raise ship’s call proforma and disbursement accounts as required; and
- Retain adequate knowledge and ensure compliance with all port security and safety standards and procedures, amongst others.
