Rock Crusher - A Rock Quarry in Monrovia
March
2008
This
section is dedicated to the hard working young men I met at
Rock Crusher, on ELWA Road / Robertsfield Highway.

This
rock quarry in Monrovia, in the ELWA area is called
Rock Crusher.
|

These
are the young men that work the quarry, "MANUALLY"!
They wedge the rocks out of the water and roll
it to higher ground
|
|

It's
about midday and the Monrovia sun is hot. These
boys are doing back breaking work, pulling out
large pieces of rocks that will eventually become
crush rock
|

To
all the people sitting in air-conditioned offices
complaining of working hard, want to trade places
with these guys for one hour?
|

They
break the rocks off cliffs with hammers into
manageable pieces, then move it to higher ground,
where they break it into smaller pieces.
|

This
boy is breaking large chunks of rocks into smaller
crush rocks. This rock will be used in the foundation
of a house of building.
