Dear
Daughters, Sons, and Friends of Crozierville in the
Diaspora,
On
behalf of the citizens of Crozierville, it is my pleasure
to invite you to programs marking the 143rd anniversary
celebration of the Township of Crozierville, which
will take place from May 4th to 10th, 2008.
Due
to the civil crisis, and as the families of our township
have grown, we have spread-out and now find our citizens
scattered far and wide. Our younger township citizens
are growing up not knowing each other and are now
separated by geographic lines and time zones. With
this happening, it is important that we make an effort
to come together and rediscover what it is that makes
our township so special, and make a concerted effort
to revitalize the township.
Crozierville,
located in Careysburg Statutory District of Montserrado
County, is rich in history and tradition. We hope
to use this opportunity (the anniversary celebration)
to showcase our township and create awareness of our
planned development programs. The Development Association
of Crozierville (DAC) will be launched during the
celebrations, and a fund raising drive will take place.
DAC has extensive plans for the township, starting
with the building of a Principal and Teachers' Quarters
for the community school; acquisition of marching
band equipment and launching of a township youth marching
band; establishment of a library for the community
school; building of the Commissioner's compound, amongst
others. All of these activiites will require significant
resources and while the commitment of the citizens
of the township has been obtained, we will also require
from you in the Diaspora, your support.
If
you are unable to be present to participate in the
fund raising program at our Intercessory and Thanksgiving
Service at 11:00 A.M. on May 4th 2008 at Reeves Memorial
United Methodist Church, or our Anniversary Program
at 11:00 A.M. on May 10th 2008 at the Antoinette Tubman
Community School grounds, Lemon Grass Street, Crozierville,
please make a contribution to our fund raising efforts.
If time and distance will not permit you to be there
in person, we solicit your financial support to help
re-build the township.
As
a true daughter, son and/or friend of Crozierville,
who has been separated through time and distance from
the township, we are convinced that we can count on
your strong support (financial or in kind) to help
actuate this exciting renaissance of our township.
We
look forward to your positive response to this invitation
and look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Hon. J. Modesco Siaker
Commissioner, Township of Crozierville
The
following message goes out to all sons, daughters
and friends of the Township of Crozierville, Liberia
in the Diaspora.
About
two years ago, a small group of concerned citizens,
along with the Commissioner of the township of Crozierville
in Liberia began meeting in Monrovia to discuss what
needed to be done to begin the process of re-vitalizing
and re-building this historic township, which lies
just 15 miles outside Monrovia in Careysburg Statutory
District of Montserrado County. During those initial
meetings a blueprint for a development association
and identified community development projects began
to be conceptualized. For a variety of reasons, discussions
were slow, but steady and promising. But during the
beginning of 2008, citizens (residents and non-residents)
really became galvanized towards these efforts when
there were talks about annexing the township, a move
that would truly destroy the township's historic landmarks
and geography. Towards this end, and with enormous
vim and vitality, Citizens of the township of Crozierville
made the decision to:
