The First United Methodist Church (FUMC) Monrovia hosted a Benefit Dinner on Saturday, the 30th of November 2013 at the Executive Pavilion, under the distinguished Patronage of H.E. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia and Member of FUMC Monrovia.

Proceeds from the Benefit Dinner will go towards the construction of a Modern Public Library.  The cost of constructing the Library is estimated at $500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Dollars).

In an effort to contribute to post conflict education in Liberia, staying consistent with Methodist commitment to education and humankind, the First United Methodist Church is undertaking a project to construct a modern public library in the City of Paynesville to improve access to both literature and online research for students, teachers and the general public.  The Library will be located in the City of Paynesville, Liberia.

The Advance Committee of the FUMC is charged with raising funds for this project.
