A Tribute to Sarah Christine Fredericks

December 25, 1952 – January 2, 2021

My Love Always for Sarah Fredericks….

My love for you began in Brandywine, Maryland when I was a single mom in a new home with two young boys… in desperate need of direction and perspective. However, you frequently reminded me that your love for me began when you traveled to visit Uncle Mickey in Flushing 43 years ago upon hearing that your best friends had given birth to a girl named Elizabeth. Reuniting with you in Maryland was truly serendipitous in every way – though you had known me my entire life through your friendship with my parents, I quickly came to realize that God sent you and your love at a time when I was most in need - when I was most unsure about myself and my abilities. And just like the angel you are, you appeared and immediately put it all in perspective for me - Like only you could. You became my cheerleader, my confidant, my partner in (good) crime ? and my comedian when I couldn’t find my own smile. When Dementia robbed me of my mother, without hesitation you immediately stepped in for your sister…being the mom that I needed and the grandma that the boys needed. Through your living examples and fervent prayers on my behalf, you strengthened my faith in God and directed me closer to Him. Evangelizing the Word of God daily within my life and the life of others.

Samuel T. Lawrence

Sunrise: January 9, 1942

Sunset: November 23, 2020

The Lawrence, Baryon, Kollie and Allison families would like to thank all those who sympathized with us during the home-going events of our Father, Uncle, GrandDad, Brother and Cousin(Samuel T. Lawrence). Your flowers, cash, kind and words of consolations were remarkable and without you, the process would have been difficult.

We are extremely grateful for kind gestures.
Dear Pappay Sam: (Samuel T. Lawrence), we want to thank you for sharing 78 unbroken years with the family. Your smiles and affections will be greatly missed. You were our gentle giant and your love for service to humanity is worth emulating. Your patients called you the poor man’s doctor, your peers called you Cous and we the children called you Pappay Sam. These were distinguished honors bestowed upon you for the quality of life you lived. You were always a fun guy and you enjoyed every bit of your life to the fullest of your ability. It’s hard to imagine been at family’s functions without you. You are loved even in death, you will forever be missed. God be with you till we meet again.

As you journey this new path, we extend our loves to the faithful departed: Ma Guator, Ma Deddeh, Ma Rebecca, Jeff, Darlingboy, Peppa Hawa Ben, and Johannes. “ If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, we would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again. Our eyes still ache with sadness and secret tears still flow”. You will always have a special place in our hearts. We love you all but Jesus loves you best.

Kollie Kpator and Rachel Lawrence.

CARD OF THANKS

Rev. John Weseh Henry McClain, II

April 7, 1938 – September 2, 2020

The family of Rev. J. Weseh McClain wishes to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us during this transition. We offer heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all our family and friends for your ministry of presence, visits, prayers, encouragement and other acts of kindness for our irreparable loss. May his memory be treasured, and the God of paradise receive him into blissful joys; and may the God of all comfort engulf us with His grace and sustain us with His strength. Rest in Peace, beloved.

Susie Knuckles McClain

TRIBUTE TO OUR FATHER,
The Late Thomas Max Beer, Sr.

On this day November 3, 1975, you left us. You were taken from us in an unprecedented manner and we didn’t have the chance to say good-bye.

As we remember you today, we recall our formative years when you were always there for us. We miss the sound of your voice, the wisdom in your advice, the stories of your life, and just being in your presence.

As we retrospect over time, we find ourselves wondering…... Did we thank you enough for teaching us by your example, the value of education, hard work, good judgment, courage and integrity? the sacrifices you made to let us have the very best?

If we have forgotten to show our gratitude for all you did, we’re thanking you now. And we are hoping you knew all along, how much you meant to us.

We miss you as much today as we did the day you died. Rest in peace “Pa”. You will forever remain in our hearts. May your soul and the souls of all faithful departed, rest in Perfect Peace.

Love always,
T. Max Beer, Jr.,
For the Family

Memory in Remembrance

Of The Late Roderick G. Smith (Oso)

March 6, 1954 - October 14, 2019
It is with deep and ongoing sense of loss that the Board of Directors, Senior Management Team and Staff of Stop AIDS in Liberia (SAIL) memorialize the anniversary of the one-year home-going of its Board Member Roderick G. Smith (Oso).

Roderick Oso Smith (March 6, 1954 – October 14, 2019) was an amazing mentor and professional individual who helped so many community based organizations improve the quality of their work by building systems. With his expertise in financial management, be built the financial and organization management capacity of several institutions in Liberia.  He was a tireless and humble mentor and a true father. REMEMBERING SISTER, OUR MOM, TODAY

We called you Sister, because you were just that, in addition to being our mother. Keeping long conversations into the night, talking just about anything with us and making us laugh. We called you our MNSBC analyst, filling us in with all the breaking news and giving your own views on what you think the real news is. As we sit and watch the news your presence is still felt. You left us with beautiful memories. Lowell is not the same without you, but we know we will see you after a while. Rest in Peace. Rest in Peace and Happy birthday in heaven. YOUR BELOVED CHILDREN.

A Tribute to Daddy
(Roland Leonard Jones)

Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

On this thirtieth year of your death anniversary, what would have been your 78th birthday on June 26th, your girls would like to say we miss you dearly, and that you will never ever be forgotten.

Some women are born strong, and some were made to be strong. We daddy’s girls are the latter. I often tell folks God must have had a plan because if daddy was still alive, we probably would have been spoiled, I mean, maggots oozing spoiled. Our first love, protector, provider, miss those years when you would personally take us for back to school shopping, walking on Benson Street, Randall Street etc. Oh how we miss you!!!!

To those who financed, participated or orchestrated the senseless civil war that caused the untimely death of daddy, if you are alive, you might have gotten away with murder on earth, but your HELL awaits.

Daddy it is our hope that we have and continue to make you proud, as you watch down on us. You’re forever our guiding angel. WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS!!!!!

A Tribute to Mrs. Martha C. Thompson-Freeman

August 9, 1952 – May 20, 2019

It’s exactly 1 year today since you were called to rest by our Maker but the life lessons that you taught us are keeping us going every day. You rose while it was yet night and provided food for your household. Today, your children and grandchildren rise up and call you blessed and praise you even though you are no more with us. You extended your hands to the poor. Yes, you reached out your hands to the needy. You opened your mouth with wisdom, and on your tongue was the law of kindness, wisdom and empathy. Time has not been able to heal the broken hearts that your death brought us but we have a consolation in Revelation 21:4: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

A Tribute To
Joel M Cassell
Jr.

God saw you getting tired,

And a cure was not to be,

So He put His arms around you,

And whispered "Come to me."

With tearful eyes we watched you,

As you slowly slipped away,

And though we loved you dearly,

We couldn't make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating,

Your tired hands put to rest,

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best

Time goes by, but the memories never fade. Memories are all that we have that will last. Your life and our times together live on in our hearts forever.
Although you’re gone, you walk beside us every day – unseen, unheard but always there. You may have left our lives, but you will never leave our hearts, our minds, our thoughts.

You taught us so much, but you could not teach us how to live without you. You are missed more and more every day. Our love grows stronger and stronger as we glow in your love and the memory of the life we lived.

Love,
Your wife and children - Denise, Shelby and Brandon

BUD'S MEMORIAL TRIBUTE A Mother's Tribute In loving memory of a beloved son

Bud Eustatius Clarke "Buddy"

July 18,1984 - March16, 2019

My God! I can hardly believe it's been a year since your voice was silenced, when you tragically departed this broken world, leaving a gaping hole in my heart. It felt like a ton of bricks had hit me, hoping the pain would subside; but it never did.

Wow, looking back, it seems like yesterday. Little did I know a phone call on a Saturday morning would change my life forever. Oh how I miss you my loving child; your smile, infectious laugh, hugs, "smooches" as you would say after "I love you Ma" before hanging up. I miss hearing you say "Hey...how's my beautiful African Mother doing"? I never did get my Lamborghini you promised. You were so kind, caring, loving and compassionate.

Your sacrificial love for others sometimes put you in a compromising position, but it didn't matter. There wasn't anyone you met you didn't call your friend; believing everyone had some good in them. You gave your all Bud. I will never understand why; but God is His own Interpreter. Rest in Perfect Peace my beloved son...until we meet again! Forever missed, loved and cherished....

Mama (Sophia E. Williams) L

ADOLPH AKWE LAWRENCE

MARCH 24, 1966 - MARCH 24, 2019

1966, March 24 we shared 53 years of everlasting memories of joy and smiles. You took our sadness and turned it into joy. For many you wiped away their tears and healed their wounds.

Your family is grateful, Your friends are grateful, Your constituents are grateful, Your team and institutions are grateful, Your In-laws are grateful, Your students and parents are grateful, Your players are grateful, Your workers are grateful, siblings are ever grateful, Your children are ever grateful, Your wife is forever grateful, But most of all, Liberia is grateful.

It is hard to let go and say goodbye. But we must say goodbye.

Your soul will rest in perfect peace.

In Loving Memory of
Samuel B. Peabody

1826 days ago, on Feburary 26, 2015, our lives were hit with the bluntest of force. A force that was so severe from which we have never recovered and seem not to be able to ever recover from.

Writing this reminder to myself of that fateful day,  I am at my desk looking at your picture.  There is a smile on your face that is sincere and mischevious at the same time.

As a mother whose son was snatched away from her in an unprecedented and unforgiving manner, I mourn also for other parents who were or could be confronted with a similar fate as myself.

Time, often said, is a healer. Time, for us, does not seem  to heal so well.

Aye God, why did you do this to me?

I only pray that my son's soul found a resting place.

Mom

In Loving Memory of Wesley Bailey

I remember this day... 37 years ago. Seems like yesterday. Still struggling. So hard to let you go. Happy Annivesary. Love you always.
