“I am the Resurrection, I am the Life. If you believe in Me,
Even though you Die, You shall live forever.”

It is with heavy hearts that the Constance, Elliott, Woart, Morgan, Boyd, Manston, Walker, Collins, Neufville and Moore families announce the homegoing of Counsellor Joseph Hweye Constance, Counselor-At-Law and Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Liberia.

This sad event occurred on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at the S. D. Cooper Hospital in Sinkor; Monrovia, Liberia. Counsellor Constance was born unto the union of Mr. Tetee-Wade and Mrs. Nyan-Dweh Welehne Constance in beautiful Maryland County, Fishtown, Liberia on September 18, 1930. His mom lived a blessed life up to the ripe age of 103 years with full faculties.

He was a graduate of Cape Palmas High School, the University of Liberia and the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law.

He was married to Rachel Elliott Constance who predeceased him. This union was blessed with some wonderful children: Anna Nyemade; Charlotte Dwela Vincent; Joseph, Jr (Martha); John Nmele (Kumba); Luvenia; Irving; Maria Yede; Cletus Constance; Rev. Valentine Madison; Emmanuel Gleh Voka; and Sunday Nicholson. Beatrice Koffa Shelton; Victoria Constance and Gabriel Madison predeceased him.

Counsellor Constance had a very successful career working as an executive with various concessions in Liberia. His first major career was with the Liberian Mining Company (LMC) until it closed. After the closure of LMC he was offered a position with the B.F. Goodrich Company where he also worked until its closure.

Counsellor Constance leaves to mourn and cherish his loss his children; 23 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends in Africa, Europe, the U.S.A. and other parts of the world. He will really be missed but we know that he is gone to occupy one of the many mansions that our Heavenly Father promises to us when we live right on this green earth and transition to Him at the end of our journey.

May the souls of Joseph and all the faithful departed rest in eternal peace because "The souls of the Righteous are in the Hands of God".
