Harrington Hugo Evans

It is with heavy hearts that our families announce that Harrington Hugo Evans (aka KukuBoy) passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 3, 2019 in Providence, Rhode Island.

Born in Gedetarbo, Maryland County, Liberia on December 28, 1942, Harrington began his early education at Firestone Central School then matriculated to BWI (Booker Washington Institute) in Kakata, Liberia. After graduating from BWI, he was awarded a scholarship to study engineering at the Israeli Naval Academy. He migrated to Boston, Massachusetts after completing his studies and continued to reside in the New England Area until his death.

Harrington worked as Jurisdictional Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector for Global Risk Consultants Corp until his retirement.

He was a loving and caring family man and a devout Christian and an active member of All Saints Memorial Church in Providence, Rhode Island. He was Worshipful Master, Cedar Lodge #164; Member, Cedar Chapter #131; Past President, Maryland County Association of Rhode Island; Past President, BWI Alumni Association, USA; Member, Invincible Eleven Sports Club, USA. Harrington will surely be missed by his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Rosetta Randolph-Evans; his children Vivian Wallace, Rubye Taylor, William Randolph, Hemieh Evans, Hakim Evans, and Tilmon Evans; his siblings Dorothea Gordon, Mildred Itoka, Bernice Ajavon, Sam Ajavon, Akoue Ajavon, Laura Ward, Phil Merriam, Mae Stanley, and Dwede Townsend; 16 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, foster brothers and sisters and other relatives and friends in the USA and Liberia.

Harrington was predeceased by his parents Tilmon Hugo Evans and Martha Dwede Freeman; his sister Maria Evans, and brother Anthony Ayi Ajavon.
