ELIZABETH FLOWERS GIBSON

August 24th 1928 - November 29th 2019

The Gibson, Flowers and the of Mai Shaw Roberts lineage announce the home going of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunty, Sister, and the Matriarch of our Family, Elizabeth Flowers Gibson. This triumphant transition occurred on Friday, November 29th, 2019 at her home in Brewerville, Montserrado County.

She is survived by her children, Boikai S. Twe (Debbie), Alexander M Massey (Gwendolyn), Charles JL Gibson III (Audrey), and Francis I Gibson (Princess). Other children are Clayonon Cecelia Morris (Sekpeh), and Alfred B. Gibson (Enid). She is also survived by three sisters: Thelma January (Ohio, USA), Grace Ricks (Brewerville, Liberia) and Marie Alieu (RI, USA); Twenty Grand Children, ten Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Grand nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her husband, Charles JL Gibson Sr, sons: Harald S. Gibson and A. Dehkonte N. Gibson; her parents Mai Shaw Roberts and Isaac Flowers, along with four sisters and three brothers predeceased her.

Aunty Lizzy or Ms. Lizzy (as she was affectionately called), was a dedicated Public servant who worked for the Ministry of Education as Telephone operator for many years up until her retirement in 1984. She was a staunched AME and a pillar of the Geda AME Church in Brewerville, Montserrado County. She was an active member of Naomi chapter #12 Order of Eastern star until her departure from Liberia in 1990 for the United States of America. She returned to Liberia in 2007.

Funeral arrangements are as follow:
December 17th 2019

The remains will be removed from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral parlors at 3pm and taken to her home in Tweh Farm (near beer Factory) for one hour of family prayers. Thereafter the body will be taken to the Geda AME Church in Brewerville for a night of wake keeping (From 6pm to 10pm).
December 18th 2019

Funeral services over the remains of the Late Elizabeth F. Gibson will be held at the Geda AME Church in Brewerville at 11am precisely.

Kindly note that except for Kiara Development Corporation, Liberia Anti – Corruption Commission, Naomi Chapter #12 OES, the AME Church, the city of Brewerville, and the family, ALL other tribute will be made at the wake.

Interment follows at the Brewerville cemetery. Repast will be held at the Brewerville City hall.

Note:
The funeral service on December 18th will be live streamed on KMTV Liberia via Facebook for family and friends who are unable to attend.
