Kuluboh N(Nelly) Dalai Jensen

May 31, 1952 – March 16, 2019

Stalwart Daughter of the Kpelle, Lorma, and Belle People of Liberia. Devoted civil servant of the Republic of Liberia from Tolbert time to Ellen time, Specialist in the Land Reform Commission of Liberia, Strong Independent Black Woman!

The Jensen, Curran, Cole, Mator and Harris families is devasted to announce the sudden death of their beloved sister, aunty, niece, mother, cousin, mentor “Kuluboh ‘Nelly’ Dalai” Jensen. This sad event occurred on Saturday, March 16, 2019 in Abidjan, Cote D’Ivoire. She was sixty-six years old.
“K,” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was a remarkable and strong woman. She stood her ground and survived the civil war and came to America only to return home to be of service to her people.

She is predeceased by her parents, Korto Hamalai and Moses K Jensen of Zorzor, Lofa County and several older siblings, including a younger brother and sister in the persons of Williwu John Jensen and Tuikpaku Jensen
She is survived by her wonderful son Mator Varmuyah Jensen of the United States of America (Michigan), her dear brothers Duma Yarzai Jensen and Stephen Guzeh Yarkpazuo Jensen, and her beloved sister Yamah Yandai Jensen (Michigan).

She also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives including Peter Y Curran, Rennie/Josie Curran, Joan (Rufus) Darkotey, Oretha Curran, Demoe Johnson, Kiapeh (Dr Henrique) Tokpah, Capitan Hilary Nimmo ( US Army) , Jenkins RS Mulbah, James Gbigbi, Comfort & Rosetta Gbigbi, James F Cole, Amelia(Adolphus) Addy, Esther Curran, Julius Paul Kpandee, Demoe Dede Kaykai, Korto Ward, Peter F Mulbah, Larry Yarkpawolo, Wilson Tokpah, Tenneh(Prince)Nelson and a host of other relatives in the United States and Liberia.

Sister “K” was truly blessed with many friends during her life’s journey especially her classmates from LTI, Cuttington University and colleagues from the Land Commission, Rural Development, Lutheran Church, and Mineke Foundation. We invite each one of them to join us as we celebrate her life and legacy in the coming weeks.

May her soul rest peacefully in the everlasting arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some day we shall see her again!
