Mr. Joseph D. Kofa

The Kofa and Wleh Monah families regret to announce the death of Mr Joseph D. Kofa, Sr.

This sad event occurred on March 2, 2019 in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The late Mr. Kofa leaves to mourn  his life-long partner and loving wife, Agnes Tetee Faux- Kofa; his dear children Konwloh Kofa- Sayeh (Lawrence G. Sayeh), Sawee Kofa, Walea Kofa-Payne (Benedict S. Payne), Donyen Kofa, Sayondee Kofa, Josephine Kofa-Dwuye (Calvin Dwuye), Decontee Kofa-Sawyer (Late Patrick Sawyer) , Joseph D. Kofa Jr, Comfort Krah (Rev. Vickson M. Krah), Joseph Nyenkan Tarpeh Kofa( Belinda Kofa), Prince Kofa (Korto William Kofa), Trokon Kofa (Cynthia Dike Kofa), Juah Kofa, all of USA, and 
Trokon Wayne(Glory Davis Kofa) of Liberia; and his godson Justice Joseph Nagbe ( Liberia). He has seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He also leaves to mourn his  nieces and nephews Ms. Martha Kofa - Gabriel.,Eleanor Wleh- Torbor ( and siblings), Slewion Kofa, Samuel Kofa, James Kofa Jr, Cynthia Kofa Brice, Cathy Kofa, Caroline Sullivan, Sandra Kofa, Beatrice Kofa-Lloyd, Cecelia Kofa, John Kofa Jr., Michelle Kofa, Sophia Monbo, Denise Dioud,  Mary Beh, Theresa Tarpeh, Sayonnoh Nmah, Mary Stryker, Dwagbah Putu, Doe Wleh Bleh, Doe Welh Donyen, Juah Nyongba and a host of relatives, friends and students. The late Mr Kofa was predeceased by all his siblings, including, the late James Kieh Kofa Sr., John C. Kofa Sr.,  David Darbeh Kofa and Sayondee Martha Gbie Kofa.

Mr. Kofa was a seasoned public servant. He ably served  the Unity Party( Former Chairman); Coalition of Liberian Political Parties ( Chairman) and Assistant Superintendent for Development, Sinoe County. He serves many areas in the educational sector of Liberia, including, Ministry of Education( Acting Minister, Interim Government of Liberia)  the Monrovia Consolidated School System (MCSS, Superintendent) ;  the College of West Africa(CWA), Sanniquelli High,  Laboratory High. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church with membership in Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kru Town, Liberia and  the First United Methodist Church of Germantiwn, USA.

The Burial arrangement is as follows:
Wake Keeping in the USA is scheduled for Friday April 12, 2019 7PM - 10PM at the 
First United Methodist Church

Philadelphia Pennsylvania 19144. 

Celebration of Home Going Service in the USA will be held April 13, 2019 at the 
First United Methodist Church in Germantown Phila PA. Viewing of the Body Starts  09:00 O'clock AM follow by the general service at 10:00 O'clock AM.

Interment will occurred in Monrovia, Liberia. The Funeral Service is schedule take places April 27, 2019 at the:
