Dr. Rudolph A. Polson

(Sunrise May 4, 1960 - Sunset February 5, 2020)

The Polson family announces with profound sadness and regrets the untimely death of their son, brother, uncle, Dr. Rudolph Adachi Polson. This sad event occurred on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 in Houston, Texas after a brief illness.

Rudolph, affectionately known as Rudy, was a graduate of the W.V.S. Tubman High School in Monrovia, Liberia and the Cuttington University College in Suakoko, Bong County, Liberia. He obtained his MSc in Economics from Mississippi State University and his PhD in Agricultural Economics from Texas A & M University with honors. He began his professional career as Associate Scientist at the UN/ IITA in Ibadan, Nigerian and later as Senior Economist at the World bank based in Washington DC.

Rudy was a God-fearing father, a loving brother and kindhearted family man and a dependable friend who touched many lives and will be dearly missed by a host of family members and friends.

He is survived by his four children: Rhoda Polson-Moreta (USA), Michael A. Polson (USA), Vuyo Polson (South Africa) and Rudi Polson (Liberia). His grandchildren:Dina, Rebekah, Israel and Abigail Moreta, His Son-in-Law: Vidal Moreta.

He was predeceased by his father, Johnson Polson, his mother, Yatta Naylon Polson and his younger sister, Doris Polson–Kanasuah.

He leaves to mourn his loss: His step-mom, Hawa Polson, His brothers: Jerry Mwah Polson, USA; In Liberia: Thomas Polson, Damoi Polson, Fato Polson, William Polson and Army Polson. His sisters: Linda Polson, Kenny Polson, Annie Polson, Victoria Polson-Kpengba, Cecelia Polson, Watta Polson, Yhenyah Polson. A host of nephews, nieces and cousins: Selena Polson-Mappy, Sylvester A. Wennie, Ervin Yango, Josephine Hage, Nancy H. Polson, Evelyn Polson-Russell, John Sackie, and a host of many other relatives and friends.

A Private Funeral service over the remains of the late Dr. Rudolph A. Polson will be held in Fairfax County, Virginia and a Memorial and Celebration of Life Service in Sacramento, California. Times and Dates to be announced.
