One of the first things you notice when you enter the factory compound of MARCO is the pungent smell of natural rubber. That is why in Liberia, rubber is called “stink money”.

After the latex is tapped, it is brought to this location, were acid and dye are added

Acid is used to coagulate the rubber and dye is added to identify the rubber in the event of theft
